As the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) continues to grow in popularity, so too does the need for easy and efficient ways to access data related to these unique digital assets.

That's where BlockSpan comes in with its NFT API, designed specifically to make accessing blockchain exchange collections data easy and seamless.

With access to data of over 400+ million NFTs, creators across the globe can get the information they need, when they need it – making building more streamlined and effective than ever before.

The Importance of Exchange Endpoints

The BlockSpan NFT API works by connecting to various NFT exchanges and collecting data related to NFT collections. This includes information such as the total number of NFTs in a collection, the current highest bid, and the owner of each NFT.

This data is then aggregated and made available through a simple API, making it easy for developers and businesses to integrate NFT collection data into their own applications and services.

Understanding the market is vital to creating solid, desirable, and well priced applications and products.

By using BlockSpans’s most utilized set of APIs, developers can retrieve collection sales statistics from marketplaces, such as OpenSea and LooksRare.

Not only does this provide a full picture understanding of the market, but it all happens in real time – so you’re always up to date on the latest.

How Does It Work?

There are four ways to utilize the exchange endpoint APIs:

  • Get all exchange collections
  • Get single exchange collection
  • Get exchange collections by ranking
  • Find exchange collections

#1 Get All Exchange Collections

This is best used for retrieving bulk, general information on a large scale.

When using the exchange API, you will retrieve all information from collections exhibiting activity within the past seven days. Due to the substantial number of records potentially being returned, totals will default to 100,000.

Once loaded, the information will be provided to you shown in descending order by updated date. A default of 25 to 100 records will be shown at one time and you can then scroll through the data to grab what you need.

Specifically, you can view all available metadata for collections, including key, name, description, image_url, discord_url, and more.

Data also will include the overall total metrics, such as market cap, number of owners, floor price, total minted, and supply.

Additionally, this includes one day, seven day, and 30 day sales metrics for volume, sales, change, and average price.

**Please note that all price related metrics will be provided in ETH.

#2 Get Single Exchange Collection

For devs that know exactly what they’re looking for, grabbing data on single collections is an optimal choice.

These endpoints return collection information corresponding to a specific provided exchange key, which can be obtained from the url of the collection on the respective exchange.

You can also use the Find Exchange Collection endpoint.

The information provided is the same as above, including all metadata, total metrics, and specific time frame sales metrics.

#3 Get Exchange Collection by Ranking

Retrieving exchange collection by ranking is similar to the above with some key differences.

This method will return up to the top 1,000 collections from an exchange ranked by the requested metric. It’s greatly useful for tracking top collections ranked by volume, sales, and average price.

Data is returned in descending order or requested metric, such as total_volume, one_day_volume, and more.

#4 Find Exchange by Collection

This method allows you to hone in more specifically on what you’re looking for.

This allows you to search exchange collections by key, name, or description without having to view all the other, additional data from previous methods.

Similar to the above, data returned will be displayed by last update, and you can scroll through the top 25 to 100 records at a time.

You will still get all the same key information, including total metrics and metadata.

Final Thoughts

No matter if you are perusing the market for an overview of its happenings, or would rather zero in on a specific collection, BlockSpan provides you with all the tools you need to be successful – all while removing the stress, complications, and frustrations of standard blockchain technology.

Welcome to the future with BlockSpan, where you can work smarter, not harder.
